A simple love story ... and others ...

A son asked his father,
'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'
Do take note that despite having a heart condition, the father says 'Yes'.

They went on to complete the marathon together.

Father and son went on to join many other marathons as well since then.

The father always agree with his son's request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father,
'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.'

As always, his father said 'Yes' too.

For those who do not know, Ironman is one of the toughest triathlon ever.

The race encompasses three endurance events of a

2.4 mile (3.86 km) ocean swim,
112 mile (180.2 km) bike ride, and
26.2 mile (42.195 km) run

... marathon along the coast of the Big Island.

Father and son went on to complete the race together.

Now, watch the video of the race and the reality of life. It is a very touching video … trust me ^.^

The father loves him so much till the point where he sacrificed everything just for him.

Only a parent can do that !!!

They are willing to go through the thick and thin just for us … and yes, even their lives.

Let’s travel a little nearer back home to the current tragedy of ‘Bukit Antarabangsa landslide’ here in Malaysia.

A veterinarian, Dr S. Yogeswari, died while trying to save her children. She was searching for them in her wrecked house and was trapped.

She managed to find them. But then, as land slide was still occurring, she used her body to shield them.

A beam fell on her back, fracturing her ribs and causing massive internal bleeding.

Practically two different story, but generally, it is the same thing – LOVE.

According to The Filial Piety Sutra,
“The parental kindness is deeper than the sea”

“The virtuous kindness of our parents never differs. As long as you are their child, they will never despise you no matter how ugly you may be

“And they will never get angry or be disgusted with you even if you are crippled”
The Sutra is a rather interesting read. You can download a special English translated comic version here (right click to save as/save link as).

You don't have to be a Buddhist to enjoy it. Thrust me, you will love the comic version …

Last but not least, LOVE your parents dearly .... treasure them while there are still with you!!!

They may be a little grumpy at times, or a control freak, or whatever impression you may have, but, once you read the Sutra, you will understand their kindness in bringing you up.

I LOVE my parent and relatives dearly and I am sure you do too ^.^

Note:
While there are bloggers who are compassionate enough as they blog about the land slide tragedy with a heavy heart (you rock!), there are a blogger who are otherwise.

He failed to look a little deeper and a little further into that matter. Seriously, the victims are not flaunting their wealth for whatever reason so as to invest their money at land slide prone area !!! Kononnya that blogger hebat eh! His post deserve a DANG from me...

Look at Dr Yogeswari, she is an animal lover who charged only a nominal fee to vaccinate, neuter and treat rescued cats and dogs. She also did not take any money when boarding rescued dogs and cats at her clinic.
Is she anything other than flaunting her wealth?

There is another blogger who assume that the east coast people are stupid enough to build houses there when that area is flood prone. And so to him, they deserve such predicament.

Assume ... assume ... assume ... did he research before coming out with such opinions. The people there are mostly fisherman, farmer and etc who work hard to make a living. His opinions are pretty much unfounded ... and without any particular strong facts and proofs. That post deserve a DANG from me too.

We blog to inspire, to share and spread positive opinions and knowledge ... not sending out negative ill fated comments and opinions.
No offense intended ...
