I Am Back Blogging Again ...

I know. I neglected my blog again. Ha .. not funny, really. I've been busy the past 10 months till the point I actually don't bother blogging anymore. Just imagine working from morning till late night consistently throughout the week. Any free time will thus be devoted to sleeping, facebooking, surfing, sleeping, working at home (what!), sleeping again, eat, TV, family, sleeping ... haha ...

Fast forwarding to 2011, erm ... more specifically March 2011 ... now ... I told myself that I need to change. I don't see why I need to push to the max anymore because the progress I hoped for is not moving as fast I would like it to be anyway. The past 10 months is seriously eating me up already and I decided that it is not worth it and to give myself a little breathing space. I want to have a more active and healthy lifestyle, I want to do some travelling around, I want to meet different people, and I want to experience something more than I did in 2010. Not saying that 2010 is a bad year...just that 2010 is an eye opener :)

Anyway, how's life since leaving my blog untended. Hmm ... let's see ...

I can finally stop eating all the tuberculostatic drugs, what like after almost a year eating it every single day.

My last x-ray and body check-up was in August. The next one will be in August 2011. Doctor said that my lungs will take a couple of years to cure completely. Apparently, there are still scars (called fibrosis) on the surface. Umphh ... (another reason for me to take it easier this time around eh!)

I'm still single ... haha ... actually it is not funny because the pressure from the elders are truly overwhelming, I don't like it one bit. I say, when the time comes, the time will come. Do I really need to be attached, get married immediately, have kids and everything ... like right now and before I reach 30?

At work, as mentioned, I've been very busy indeed. I do enjoy some part of my work, yes, especially the challenges. When I want to accomplish something I always do the best I can and push to the max. It sounded silly sometimes but maybe I give in too much without realizing it occasionally. You see, people's recognition of me is extremely important to me. I need to know that I am appreciated, the stuff that I am doing is benefiting others and I can see where I am heading.

Family: Why are you working so hard for har? You getting 5K salary or more ah?
Me: Erm ... no la ...I'm still young ... just want to show what I can do, my dedication to my work & climb up the career ladder faster only mar ... nothing wrong right?
Family: Nothing wrong of course ... just that you have no life lately ... look at you now ... do you want to wait till you fall sick then you stop, is it? ... just like what happen in 2009? You still need time to recover you know!
Me: Erm ... (stoned!)

Friends: Aiyah ... why are you working so hard for? Salary low ... work like cow ... even people who didn't do as much work as you earning way more than you lar ... not worth it at all ... not worth it
Me: Erm ... they have experience and have been working longer already mar. I've just started ... and after all, wherever you go it is the same lar ... so have to work hard to climb faster mar ... correct or not?
Friends: Look at us lar ...been working long enough already ... we are still just here, just the same ... experience is nothing if you can't do the work properly, right? It is so obvious ...
Me: Erm ... okay ... but hey I have friends working in the same line climbing so fast and earning double of mine already. I can also do it what. Just need more time.
Friends: Okay! You wait and see lah ... but why the hell you go and compare yourself with your friends for?
Me:  (stoned!) ... erm ... because I believe I can do it too?

Me: Hey! I've been here for sometime already. Do you know what am I doing here and what is my daily job like?
Friend: Erm ...
Me: ...
Friend: Well ...
Me: ...
Friend: You know ... planning ...and erm ...well ... for the team and all ...
Me: (jaw drop and feeling like my heart just fell 1 notch)  ... (Is that all I do in front of you all this while? Is that all? Seriously?)

Okay! Enough with all the negativity above because I am looking forward to this year and how it will unfold this time around. I still enjoy some part of my job ... though I hate that some of it is becoming some sort of  a routine. When people have different projects every time, I am stuck doing the same thing. I have to be more positive and believe that all will not go down the drain. After all, I think I have definitely achieved some of the objectives written here already.

Am I getting richer in the past 10 months? Or having more savings just for the future. Well, far from it actually. Study loan, car loan, parents, petrol, food, other necessities, the list goes on and on. By month's end, I am left with so little I think it will take me another 50 years to have a comfortable savings to spend. Not to mentioned, someone owe me money and I'm still trying to get my money back ... hmph... that's worth more than an iphone. I don't mind really lending people money. That is what family and friends are for right, looking after each other's back and giving a hand in time of need. But, that ... yes I have learnt my lesson ...that is to lend to people worth lending only.

Talking about study loan, I applied for an exemption 6 months back because I got a 1st class honour. Unfortunately, I graduated in the wrong year, I think. The #@%$ government stopped the exemption policy in 2005 but then decided to reinstate it back beginning 2010. What about students who graduated between 2005 and 2010. Unimaginably silly. Not fair at all. Why are we left out?

Last but not least, I am still iphone4-less. I would like to have one so badly for a long time already. I tried getting one few weeks ago when Maxis visited AABC. But, their plan sucks big time. So called sister-brother company eh ... what's with the expensive plans and 'keep us tied up forever' contract? I am currently looking at ways to get an affordable unlocked version outside. Any ideas where can I get one?

That's about it for now. Till the next post ... ciao.

In what circumstances can we say "religion is important" and "religion is not important"?

Is your religion important to you? Are you comfortable with your current religion? What are you looking for in a religion? Etc ...

Well, many people faced these problems where they don't have any idea where their religion is leading them to. They are in it because they are born and raised in it. There isn't a sense of belonging inside as they just accept it and go through their daily life with so called "their religion" on their backs as though it is a daily chores. No, it can't be that way, right?

An email came to me earlier today with Dalai Lama's words attached. And, I am enlighten. What he said make so much sense. His words are like an arrow hitting straight to the bull's eye. There is no forcing in accepting a religion. It is all about the truth and the sensible wise advices. He said:

"The best religion gets you closest to God. It is the one that makes you a better person"

In another word, it means that a religion will be the best religion in the whole wide world if it makes all the difference to you. It does get you closer to God and because of it, you are what you are today!

I'm glad to say that I've been a Buddhist all my life. And yes, I do feel comfortable with my religion. I believe in it and I can see where it is leading me to. At times, I can sense that I am being protected and looked upon after. I've been through some really tough time in the past 2 years and it could have been worse.

I wouldn't dare to say that I am a good, kind, humble, etc human being because of my religion . But, I can say out loudly that I've tried my very best to be a better person and that is all that matters to me ... and to my religion. No single human is perfect after all, not even the wise Dalai Lama.

Race discrimination & prejudice .... A racist remark

I got to know about these remarks from a blogger and I decided to post it here in the hope that I can spread it wide and far.

The remarks are certainly an issue as far as I am concerned. As long as such racist remarks are raised, other races will never be able to accept the 1Malaysia concept. How are we going to compromise and accept everything when we are not even well accepted here? As a matter of a fact, most Bumiputeras are not exactly pure Bumiputeras. They have ancestors from other Asian countries as well ... particularly Indonesia.

Anyway, I'm going to translate the remarks word for word into English as best as I could below so that everyone can actually understand it. You can read the original post here. A note here that the post is dated almost 11 months ago. But, that is not the whole point here. Here we go.
To Datuk Seri Najib and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, as part of the Malaysian citizen, the Islam religion and also the Malay race, I would like to express my anger as one of the Bumiputera (indigenous people) in this Malay land.

My claim against the government of Malaysia:

1) Destroy non-bumiputera's voting rights
They definitely doesn't deserve to vote in Malaysia because they only vote based on their own race only.

2) Cancel all political parties not owned by the Bumiputera in this Malay Land
Their party is extremely racist and even if they are a part of the component, they will not help us Bumiputera. Instead, they claim for our Bumiputera rights.

3) Return back all the Malay rights which had been liberalized last month

4) Bring down the statue of Hindu God in Batu Caves and also the statue of the sitting Buddha in Kelantan.
This issue is the most important of all! How us, Malaysian, an Islam country and that Islam is the main religion here, built tall huge statues to the point that it is taller that all our mosque's dome!!!

All the claims above is not something racist. But, it is our expression underneath all of it. Other migrant races will not compromise with the current government. They will only claim all the rights of the Bumiputera.

And here we ask, before anything happens, that the Malaysian government will agree to all the 4 claims mentioned.

I would like to stress one more time, a warning to the government of Malaysia!!! ...

... that, the migrant races will not support the Bumiputera! They will only support their own race! They will only surpress Bumiputera slowly, finely and secretly. They even support all the communist fighters who killed the Islam and Malay people. What's to come next then!!!
So there you have it, a racist remark written and posted by this guy - Apache, a vice Chief of the Youth UMNO Movement.

I just don't get why this Apache guy have to raise such issue. I have Malay friends from my schooling eras as well as my current working place. They are all nice people who respect other races and religion. We will talk about the way of one another's religion and race sometimes. It is always very casual, friendly and educational.

It's hard to accept it but I feel that racial issue will always be an issue here in Malaysia. It happens when we have so many races residing together. And, each races will never forget about their roots that's for sure. I know I won't. All that we can do now is to respect one another for the differences that we have.

As to Apache guy, I don't give a damn about all his claims because it is not the voice of all Malays & Bumiputeras. If he is so worried about all his claims, he should work harder for his people. Other races work really hard to be where they are today. And, that is without much help from the government (especially the various policies laid down to even-out the economic differences between races).

Since Apache is so worried, he should just stop wearing western clothes (t-shirts/shirts/pants/coats). No more western food or any other races' food (Mcdonalds, KFC, noodles). No more TV, radio, tall buildings and etc. He should just go back to his kampung so that he can stop being so concern about things out-shinning his believes and everything. See, he just don't get it.

To me, if a person discriminate, he/she will be discriminated as well. That is the main reason why racial issues here are so hard to be solved. Other races are discriminated in the first place. So they discriminate as well. You can't expect people to stay low and accept everything with a swallow.

I know what I wrote above might not go down well with other people's understanding and believes. But, that is just my opinion. I mean no harm. To other Malay who are unlike Apache, thank you! You are different and that makes all the difference. Awesome!

When lightning and thunder strikes ...

I won't write much today. But, if you really want to know, this is what Lucky will do whenever lightning and thunder strikes. An extremely fierce dog on normal days, Lucky become a coward the minute it sense something not right about the weather. It's raining, Lucky :)

My elders once told me that if a person is afraid of thunder and lightning, it only means that the person did something bad in the past life. Are you afraid of lightning and thunder then?

A dog being abused at Kepong KTM Station

Remember my post on "A True Story of a Street Dog Named Jonah" & "A tribute to Jonah the street dog" more than a year ago? Well, I thought such cruelty won't happen right here in Malaysia. How wrong was I...

Read on ...the news I was about to share was something which happened only last month at Kepong KTM station. I came to know about this news from my friend, Cheryl (from her Facebook status).
Source : malaysiankini
M Nisha, Mar 17, 10, 4:43pm
I am writing because of a grievous incident that took place on Monday, March 15 at about 3pm at Kepong Central KTM Station. My friends and I (six of us) were there to take the train to the Bank Negara station.
After parking our cars, we heard a dog howling, more like a painful cry. Then, we noticed a dog being tied to the grill (steel fence) of the KTM station. As we approached the dog, we stood aghast at the sight.
The stray dog's leg and neck was tied very tightly to the grill and a piece of wood had been shoved down inside its throat! The dog was bleeding and its feces were all around it. The string was attached to a pole in the KTM station.
Immediately, we confronted the KTM workers. They said that it was done by Kuala Lumpur City Hall workers because a minister was to be visiting the station next week. They failed to explain further.
At once, we called the SPCA and the Paws animal welfare society. The SPCA responded efficiently by informing us that an animal control officer would be there soon. We made a slight commotion in front of the KTM station but the KTM workers were not concerned at all.
After about an hour, as we were returning to the KTM Kepong Central Station, we received a call from the SPCA officer stating that the dog was now not tied up and was moving around. When we arrived, the dog was limping. The same KTM workers avoided us as we tried to confront them. A passer-by told us that the dog has been that way for quite some time.
The SPCA officer could not capture the dog as it walked away for quite a distance. He advised us to write to the media and to the SPCA as well.
Doenn't our country's animal rights support the idea that an animal has the right to live its life without being harmed and hurt by humans? We realize that people define the meaning of animal rights and abuse in different ways but aren't the citizens of our country merciful?
This dog could have been just put to sleep if it had been harming the public or causing a nuisance. Why stick a wooden stick down its throat.
There you have it then. Animal cruelty at it's worst. I mean, what can I say more. If everything in this world was created by God, why were we, one of His creation, abused another of His creation then.

As of now, I am not sure about the poor dog's fate. Is it okay? Is it recovering already? Any kind soul out there taking the dog to the vet? I have no idea myself.

To Kepong people or anyone taking the komuter train from Kepong KTM station frequently, do update us should you know anything about the dog's fate.

Anyway, a kind soul by the name "Christopher McFadden" created a petition through care2 petitionsite. Please do sign the petition. <link to petition> Our target is 10,000. To achieve that, we must spread it to all our friends. We can tweet about it. We can post the link on Facebook. Anything will do so long as we are able to create a buzz out of it.

A Little Update on my Sponsored Children 2009 / 2010...and some others

I sponsored 2 children in 2008 through Okala Foundation. I continued my sponsorship in 2009 yet again. It had been a pleasure really to sponsor children as I know that the money was of good use in providing them with all the necessities  - hot meals, educational books and mosquito net for a year.

You might think that once I sponsored, that was all. to it Everything will be taken care of. Well yes in a way. But I did receive updates about the 2 children I sponsored on a quarterly basis from the wonderful Okala people (Thanks, Sylvia, Tamara, Susan & the rest of you).

    This is Chanceline Moni Beng.

Chanceline got the books I purchased last year.

It seems that Chanceline loves the books I had purchased :)
She was such a sweetie to say 'thank you'.

Chanceline's first term grade was 11.82 out of 20.
She needs to work harder! :p

    This is Francis Thomas Bayeme.

Francis too got the books I purchased last year.

I received a sad news a month ago informing me that his mother had passed away. Francis's father passed away 4 years ago and now he and all his siblings became orphans. Okala people were still unclear who the children will be staying withing the current village. Hopefully the children's close relatives here will take them in. Or else, they will be placed with another relative who live in a different village far away.

Francis's first term report. He was doing rather okay there ... a 13.3 out of 20.
He just needs to keep improving.

That is all the updates that I have so far since late last year and this year. I'll keep the updates coming when I have.

By the way, if you are interested in sponsoring a child, do let me know. I will put you through to the right person when the time comes (October 2010).

Dog dragged by a motorcyclist ...

I posted news / issues on animals being tortured occasionally last year and I think I should bring the mentality forward. The public needs to be aware of what is happening around us and the world over.

Yes, I know I couldn't do much to save everything and anything. But, if this is as much as I can do, I will do it of course. The article below is taken from The Daily Chili of The Star Online. I'll just summarize it properly for better reading.
According to the article, a photo depicting a motorcyclist towing a chained dog while riding on a motorcycle on a highway in Fuzhou was uploaded to the internet by a netizen named Liu on Thursday. The photo sparked off public outrage in China.
It seems that Liu managed to grabbed a photo of the motorcyclist. Liu asked the man to stop but the man just sped off. The dog was said to be unable to bark due to the chain chained around its neck. Its four legs were bleeding too.
Public who came to know about the photo and Liu's shout out demanded a search for that man to be made.
There you go. Dog being dragged along the road? What? What is going through inside the man's head anyway? Is it so fun to torture a living being? Is he excited by the screams and suffering look of the dog? I am puzzled. What had gone wrong in his upbringing by the way?

I am tired of all the animal torturing news coming from China. When my animal activist friends on facebook posted something on animals and how bad the animals in China were tortured, I felt really really bad and ashamed. They called all Chinese evil, terrible, torturing, hopeless and everything.

I know they only meant China Chinese. But hey, at the end of the day, we are still Chinese (though I am a Malaysian Chinese). I am proud of my Chinese heritage and I despise it when 'Chinese' is branded in that sort of way. At the very least, now, I can tell people that there are Chines who cared and understand that torturing another living being is a no-no.

Roarrrrrr .... Happy Chinese New Year everybody

It's the tiger year now. Tiger is the third zodiac animal among the 12 animals in Chinese calenders. Tiger is a symbol of power, strength and awe.

According to legend, the ferocious feline took third place in a race called by the Jace Emperor (Emperor of Heaven). All animals in the kingdom were invited to participate in the event. Tiger manage to claw its way across the river bank to reach the designated spot set. Hence, tiger was inducted into the Zodiac Years permanently.

Enough with the legend :) Happy Chinese New Year, people! May the tiger year be kind, generous and helpful to all.

Please enjoy the ecard below. Click on the card to see the animated version. The tiger cubs are cute.

The 5 little tiger cubs represent the 5 elements - metal, water, fire, earth and wind.

Bye Bye Starcom & Hello there, Astro

I'm rewinding back to 2009 again. Hee!
My Blog reader: Oh well ... he is at it again. What the hell is he thinking off ... going back to the past when it is already February of 2010.
Well okay, there won't be any repeats here I promised. Just some necessary updates which I actually fail to update last year due to some unforeseen circumstances. Just read my older postings and you will know why.

With regards to the title of the post, I left Starcome Mediavest after a short 3 months stint [March to May 2009 :-( ] as a junior planner. I hadn't had the chance to continue with my media planning stuffs or even give a proper goodbye to some of my friends there. I left so abruptly. It was like 'I was still there the other day and I wasn't there anymore the next day.'

I enjoyed my 3 months stint there very much (not so much during the last month actually due to my health problem). I do missed my colleagues there and all the small little things like lunch together, chit chat, jokes, tea times, food exploring (oh how I miss Kin Kin's chilli pan mee) and etc.

Handling glamorous account like Richemont (think Montblanc, Cartier, Jaeger Le Coulter, Officine Panerai) was particularly challenging as I was not so well equipped yet with the necessary knowledge to handle it efficiently. Thankfully, my boss and senior - JC and WanYi was very patience with me through out,  guiding and teaching me all kinds of stuff. Thank You!

To all my other friends there - Marry, Liling, Lydia, Ker Harn and all of the rest - Thank You! I know it is kind of .... LATE. Hahaha ...

My 'former' work station at Starcom

My left over (and now unused) name cards

The last cake I ate 2 weeks (I think) before I left.
Apparently I had a cake of Takeshi Kaneshiro's nose on it.

So, farewell Starcom MediaVest. May the force be with you :-)

After feeling unwell for more than 3 months, I was getting much better and ready to get back to work. I decided to leave Starcom after I was given an opportunity (You know who you are. Thank You! Haha) to be interviewed for an open vacancy at Astro - On Air Promo team.

At the end of the interview with my now current boss, I accepted the offer. I daren't asked for any huge salary, high position or extra benefits as I knew then that I lacked the experience to be in the position to ask for anything. My time will come eventually. To me, it was all about the learning experience and gaining more knowledge.

I came in as an intern for a month, basically learning my new job scope and getting used to the new environment. As Astro needed some time to settle all the paper work and other stuff, I continued working there as a freelancer.

    ABC - Astro Broadcast Centre

Working at Astro was a whole new experience for me. Everything was so different from the time when I was at Starcom. It took me some time to get used to it as a matter of  fact. I had more freedom and air to breathe  here actually. I was given the chance to explore and worked on things which hadn't been done previously. Not to mentioned, my colleagues and seniors who were very friendly, approachable and helpful. Thank You!

What more can I asked, right?

I was confirmed as permanent staff finally just a month ago and was eligible to have all the benefits Astro had to offer. So, a yay from me. Yay! My career resolution will be to get more things done and earn  myself a salary raise. Hehe. Also, I have been working on some stuff and am hoping to get it done. It is kind of a platform to a better tomorrow - for me and for the team, hopefully.

I may not be sure of what my future holds. Just looking at 2008 and 2009 are already making me shudder with fear, wondering if 2010 will be another hell of a roller coaster. I am optimistic about 2010 and I am going to use all my power (think 'The Secret') to make sure 2010 and beyond will be a good one.

    Hello there, Astro!

Pulmonary tuberculosis ... that is ...

One of the reason why I lost my blogging sense starting mid of 2009 all of a sudden is because I was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis.

     Under IV drips

Tuberculosis used to be one of the top killer disease in the world. It still is the top killer currently where more than 4 million people died from it every year. Having said that, tuberculosis can definitely be cured as effective drugs have been created to combat tuberculosis.
Mantoux test (a diagnostic tool) on the 24/5/09 @ 9 AM.
It was painful as tuberculin was injected into the skin.

Pulmonary tuberculosis is tuberculosis in the lung. Symptoms may include prolonged cough (I coughed for 4 months straight), chest pain, coughing out blood, fever, chills, night sweats, appetite loss, weight loss and fatigue. I had all of the above generally. Night sweats were particularly bizarre as I kept sweating majorly under the air-cond. It was so cold and I sweat.

Pyrazinamide (top left), Rifampicin (red in colour), Isoniazid (yellow in colour),
Ethambutol (bottom right) & Pyridoxine (bottom)

20 years ago, patients were injected with drugs every single day for 6 - 12 months. Now, we had drugs in the form of pills. "Phew!". For 4 months,  I underwent intensive anti tuberculosis drugs in the form of pills ... every single day. Pyrazinamide looked like panadol. Rifampicin looked like normal antibiotic pills. Isoniazid was okay. Ethambutol was evil (bitter & yucky). Pyridoxine was actually the liver supportive - vitamin B6.

Healthy food to keep my weight up ... and up.
To my cousin brother & cousin sister, thanks a lot :-)

Extra supplements to boost up my immune system.
To my aunt & uncle, thanks a lot :-)

Humans needs to be remembered rather often on the things that matters the most. More than ever, I know I will always have my family and relatives to lean on to when I am not myself.

My plate, bowl, mug, spoon & fork.

As I was infectious then, I wore a mask every single day for 3 months. I had a separate eating ware specially just for me. I had my lunch and dinner separately (and alone) at the living room.
An improved lung. Previously, serious patchy areas could be seen on my
right lung and part of the left. It only meant cavities and lesion.

When my condition improved after 4 months (October 09), I was given lesser drugs - only Rifampicin, Isoniazid & Pyridoxine. Everything seems to be going rather well.

The amount as of drugs I had ... after 6 months

The amount of drugs I had up till now was tremendous. That is a lot! There is still 3 months to go before I am allowed to stop my medication.

Till then, have a nice day.

    My neglected blog ...

I know I have neglected my blog for the longest time. My last post can be dated back to last year October the 4th. That is like ... 3 months ago. You tell me about it.

Well, here I am now, appearing all of a sudden. And, I am going to really work on my blog in the coming weeks. Oh, yes I am. It's about time to resurrect my blog back to the fore front.

Thanks for bearing with me all this while :)

At long last ... and a 'Have you seen him' thingy.

It has been quite a while since I posted something here on my blog. Where have all the time gone too anyway? Ever since I was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis, everything seems to be crumbling (well, not exactly) all over. Quarantine oneself is nothing, but, having to feel useless and aimless is another.

But, thankfully and gratefully, my family & relatives supported me through and through. While I care for them dearly, I have to admit that I need to be reminded from time to times that I still do, and very much too. Ah! We humans, we realize and learn from it only after we fall.

Talking about family and relatives reminded me of a request made by a friend of mine. My friend is looking for a long lost step brother (by the name of Lee Chee Fai) of hers. It has been 11 years since they have cross path. That is a very long period indeed. Well, this is for you then my friend.

Lee Chee Fai was born on the 1st of December 1973 at Pusing, Perak. His mum (which is my friend’s mum also) had to give him out for adoption due to some unforeseen circumstances (family problems I presume).

A child is everything to a mother. Now, you tell me which mother doesn’t love and care for her child? A mother will willingly sacrifice everything just to make sure her child is safe and doing well in the society. Remember 'The Filial Piety Sutra' (click here if you don't) ?
“The parental kindness is deeper than the sea”

“The virtuous kindness of our parents never differs. As long as you are their child, they will never despise you no matter how ugly you may be

“And they will never get angry or be disgusted with you even if you are crippled”
Well, continuing, my friend’s mum decided to look out for her son. And, manage to find him she did. It was from 1987 to 1990 when she was reconciled with her son ... briefly.

I guess he did understand his mother’s predicament. And so, he continues to stay in touch with his mum. That is even though he was staying at different locations. He even visited her occasionally. See, he did care for her.

Fast forwarding to 1998, 11 years ago (the last time my friend ever saw him), he was still working at Singapore then. His job had got something to do with hotel management. But, 1998 was the year when everything went awry. He seems to be nowhere. My friend’s mum couldn’t contact him no matter how much she tried to. She even contacted the other family (the family that adopted him). However, things didn’t look very promising though. The family seems to be hiding something.

Now that we are fast reaching the end of year 2009, there is not single news (at least a wind is still something). She is at wit’s end in searching for her son.

So, to Lee Chee Fai (if you ever read this), your mum misses you so very deeply. Do contact her and tell her that you are doing okay.

To whomever who know/recognize Lee Chee Fai, give me a buzz with your details (email of mobile number maybe) and I’ll direct you to my friend.

    Till next post, bye.

A more than a months worth of summary ...

It had been more than a month since I last posted. I think I'll just summarized it all in numbers rather than explain in detail.

    1) Streamyx modem went dead. Bought a new one and then asked my cousin to configure it. It worked. Somehow, through the router, I couldn't access to some websites ... like Facebook, MSN, Hotmail, Blogger...still couldn't figure it out though...

    2) Fell sick. Fever, flu, cough and cold. But, recovered quickly.

    3) Cough continues ... and it gets worse. Breathing problems and tiredness follows. (I thought it was a normal cough ?)

    4) Everything went from bad to worse. Went to hospital for a thorough checkup. Blood, x-ray and urine was taken.

    5) X-ray shows a pretty bad lungs ... with black spots on some part of my lungs (holes?). Doctor suspected I had pulmonary tuberculosis. Was admitted to hospital immediately for further testing.

    6) All kinds of testing was done. Blood was taken several times too. After 3 days, doctor confirmed that it was certainly pulmonary tuberculosis. I was however giver anti-tuberculosis 2 days ago. Went back home on day 3.

    7) I was to rest at home and wear a mask to protect my family from tuberculosis. I had been resting for more than 2 weeks already.

    8) Am thankful than although I started working only like ... almost 3 months ... my superior was very understanding. They told me to care for my health first before coming back to work. Thank you so much :)

    9) Am also thankful to my parents for the all the care. Not forgetting, my relatives too who had been so worried. I knew all along that I am not alone. Thank you so much :) What am I without my parents and relatives ... not imagining ... not imagining !!!

Too all, I am doing fine here, thank you. I am taking my medication on time. I am resting a lot too now since I get tired easily. My weight drops dramatically as my body uses up all my energy and strength to fight tuberculosis. I am kind of skeletal now, yes I am.

Raja Chulan Pondan on the loose !!!

It has been really that tough these days for me to find a day where I can write and post a new entry. Either I have no time at all or I am too tired to write something. I certainly have to find a way around to solve this problem. So, my dear , I am not abandoning my blog for your information.

Anyway, last week, I received an email from one of my colleague telling everyone to beware. Apparently, there is a transvestite on the loose attacking people at random ... particularly women. More on this later. That transvestite is dubbed the 'Raja Chulan Pondan'.

The image of a pondan attacking people on the street is scary and unimaginable. This is an evil crime ! What more, my office is located at Jalan Raja Chulan. Well, wait till you see the photo of the pondan !!! Hehe ...

Some of you may think that "Well, here goes another email telling us all to be careful and to email it to all people on your mailing list if you love your mum, girlfriend, sisters" or "Oh! Not another spam" email. Well, it is not. Malay Mail and The Star reported this particular news in their respective newspaper.

(I usually email everyone whenever I got such emails. No harm to be extra careful eh).
    Rampaging ‘Chulan Pondan’
Latest victim, a lawyer, fears he may continue attacking people
    By Teoh El Sen
    Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

AT least four women and a teenager are believed to have been assaulted for no apparent reason by a mentally unstable transvestite, dubbed “the Chulan Pondan”.

Often seen prowling the streets of Jalan Raja Chulan, the suspect is said to be a transvestite and is described as dark, tall, sporting chin length hair and muscular.

One reader, enraged that she was punched and hit last Saturday without provocation, contacted Malay Mail. “I was crossing the road when I saw a “man” charging towards me. He gave a painful hook with his right fist which hit my left cheek.

The force was so great that I fell, screaming for help,” said the 37-year-old lawyer working at the Weld Tower who wished to be known only as Goh. “But he continued to kick me in the buttocks and also my lower back, but luckily, a passing motorist honked and stopped to chase,” added Goh, who’s doctor had advised her to rest for a month from the inflammed injury to her spine. “He didn’t take my bag.

His eyes were boiling with hate, it was purely a hate crime. I don’t want more women hurt.

I feel that he is getting bold with each attack,” said Goh. She had also made her own investigations following the incident and managed to locate three other women who had been similarly assaulted.

It is learnt that a woman was punched in the face, causing scratches near the eyes, on March 22 by the same individual, who later had ran away shouting after the attack. Maniam, 40, a bank manager working in the area said:

“This psychopath shouldn’t be left on the streets.”

He added that his son was harassed by the same person about six months ago. He also witnessed a teenager being assaulted with a shoe at the Pavillion by the same person.

Security supervisor of the Weld Tower, Zainal Abu Bakar, believes that the person may have been involved in at least four attacks.

“We believe he sleeps at the bus stop at Jalan P. Ramlee, and he may not be mentally stable as I have seen him drinking water from the trash,” said Zainal. Malay Mail contacted Dang Wangi police last night, but they declined to comment.

Not only that, The Star also reported exactly the same case.

Police looking for transvestite who attacks women at random
    By ANDREW SAGAYAM
    Saturday April 18, 2009

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating claims that a transvestite has been randomly assaulting women in the city’s Golden Triangle area since late last month.

In the latest incident at about 9am last Saturday, a 37-year-old lawyer was punched on her left cheek and repeatedly kicked by the transvestite, known as Chulan Pondan, who is in his 30s.

The lawyer, Goh Siu Lin, when contacted, said she was walking towards the Weld supermarket on Jalan Raja Chulan when the transvestite approached from the opposite side of the road.

“He came right in front of me and punched me. I fell, and he kicked my buttocks and lower back. He only stopped when two motorcyclists came to my aid and chased him away.

“I suffered inflammation of my lower spine due to the attack. If not for the passers-by, I could have been paralysed.

“It was an unprovoked attack, and what’s even more frightening is that several other women had also suffered the same fate.”

Goh said she met six other victims who claimed to have been attacked by the transvestite.

“The man is dangerous. None of us provoked him. He can’t go around hurting people for no reason. I want the police to take action.”

Goh described the transvestite as tall, tanned, well built, with long hair, and well groomed.

Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Zulkarnain Abdul Rahman said police had recorded a statement from Goh.

He said that police would send the transvestite for psychiatric evaluation once they pick him up.

So, yeah, there you have it ... a pondan on the loose around my working area punching and attacking women.

You must be guessing why I mention 'particularly women' previously. According to the email, 3 other victims have been identified.
    a) a woman (from MSIG Weld Tower) was punched on 13th April 2009;

    b) An AmBank employee was punched on 4th April 2009 - her case was worse as he punched her head from behind, when she ran away, he chased after her and pushed her onto the road and proceeded to stamp on her back;

    c) A staff working at GNC in Weld was punched on 22nd March 2009 and sustained cuts to the skin near her left eyebrow and corner of her eye. She thinks his fingernails caused this.
I have a feeling that he ... or rather, she ... is jealous of women. Women after all have the complete 'women' package. His .. or her (oh my, how should I call him/her? Lets address him/her as heshe okay!) mind goes all awry and confused. Poof ! As heshe couldn't think straightly anymore, heshe goes around letting go all the built up anger and frustration.

I know all of you have been waiting for this ... the pondan's look and appearence. People, please kindly find posted together herewith 'Raja Chulan pondan' for your reference. Doink !!!

As you can see, my office is located at Menara Olympia. Oh! What's with the pondan, walking in the middle of the road ? While heshe may not look like a women (point of view : face), heshe certainly has a body of a women already (point of view : body, breast).

So, to those who works along Jalan Raja Chulan, particularly around Menara Olympia, The Weld, Pavillion, Menara Cosway, etc., please BEWARE of the pondan !!!

Catch himher if you are brave enough (not recommended), but please do inform police if you catch a glismpe of himher. You can also certainly (1) run like there is a dog on the loose (2) give himher a run for himher money ... fight back and protect yourself.

It is up to you to decide. For me, I'll punch himher back if I am able to. Better still, I'll give himher a stunner. Then, I'll twist and turn with my bare hands till heshe is unconscious. Then, I'll place himher to a post lamp and twist the post lamp around himher for the police to catch himher later.

(Ooops! I think I am day dreaming a little way too far). Haha ... pardon me ...

    Note
    (1) I do not look down on transvestite. The pondan above is just way too much for the public to handle ... the pondan is dangerous.
    (2) Pondan = neither male nor female, male transsexual.

12A floor ? 12B floor ? What kind of leval is that ...

It has been a week since my last post. I have been pretty busy of late : ) Well, that is what people call 'working life' like. Working life means less time spent with your family, friends, things you used to do and getting things done as well (oh...my room is in mess!).

Okay! Enough about the puny rambling above. Look at the photo below.

What can you see ? If you guess 'cam-whoring' ... neh ... please guess again : ) You should know pretty well (after reading through most of my old post) that I don't cam-whore very much. Why would I want to cam-whore inside a lift ... and especially with CCTV recording my every move.

Where is 13th and 14th floor ? OMG ... What the hell is 12A and 12B floor anyway?

A : Hey! Where is your office?
B : Oh! My office is located at Menara Olympia, 12A floor...
A : ?????? (Hurh! Is it an extention of 12th floor? B is playing a fool with me hurh ...)

Well, actually, 12A is non other than 13th floor and 12B is of course 14th floor.

The lift you saw above is the lift located inside Menara Olympia, the tall building where my office is at. The owner of the building is a Chinese man. So, I am sure everyone can guess the reason why.

In Mandarin, 14 is pronounced as 'shi si'. In Cantonese, 14 is pronounced as 'sap sei'. In Hokkien, 14 is pronounced as 'chap c'. Basically in whatever dialect, 14 will reach to the same meaning- death.

LOL. It is no wonder that 14th floor is changed to 12B.

What about 13 floor then? In Mandarin, 13 is pronounced as 'shi san'. In Cantonese, 14 is pronounced as 'sap sam'. In Hokkien, 13 is pronounced as 'chap sna'. Hmm ... nothing bad about the word 13 whatsoever.

Friday the 13th ... anyone? Yeah, to the English, Friday the 13th is a day which superstition holds to be a day of bad luck. I know that a 13th day may not be a Friday. But, somehow, the superstitious has been rubbed in a little too deep. Now, the number 13 is officially a bad number surrounded by bad luck. As a conclusion, 13th floor becomes 12A floor.

My office is at 16th floor *wink wink* ... not 12A or 12B floor : )

    Tsunami ... this coming 22nd July ? Seriously ... ?

Just received another interesting email (what's with all the emails these days eh?) ... a pretty serious claim if you asked me.

God know if this prediction is true or not.

I understand that there is so many ridiculous fake information and news circulating around the net. But yet, at the end of the day, it is better to take precaution rather than taking chances. Right ?

Anyway, according to the email, someone claim or rather, predicted that there will be another tsunami hitting on the 22nd of July. Countries which will be affected in a really bad way includes Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Singapore, Maldives, Australia, Mauritius, Si Lanka, India, Indonesia and Philippines. So, we are to avoid beaches and all low land.

What's your say ? Who can forget the sorrow of 26 December 2004 ... the day tsunami hit Indian Ocean which resulted in Asian countries close to the ocean being affected so very badly. I remember clearly the day before, I went to Genting Highland with my close relatives. We had lots of fun. The day after, tsunami came and killing mercilessly an estimated of 230,000 people. That is a LOT of people !

Seeing the footage of people screaming and crying is really that heartbreaking. Children loosing their parents ... parents loosing their children ... dead bodies floating around the sea ... etc. Such sadness is truly like glasses and pins piercing through the heart and brain of a person. If that incident were to happen to me (touch wood), I will be devastated. Life is meaningless anymore. Loosing loved ones is sad enough but loosing them so sudden and in such condition is something unimaginable.

Whatever, no matter where you are, what you are doing or whether if you believe it or not, just be very careful every hour, every minute and every second. Life is too precious !!!

    A giraffe in quicksand ....

A friend of mine emailed me this hilarious episode about a giraffe who was stuck in a quicksand. Enjoy :)

I find the character giraffe is similar to a human behavior. While not everyone is like that, human generally tends to compromise on what they have in their life. When things didn't turn out the way it should, we may go through Stage 1 - Denial. We deny that the problem actually happens.

Giraffe : It's no big deal. It's probably not even quicksand. I'm gonna have a good laugh about this with another guy. Hahaha ... aha .. aha...

LOL ... how could that not be quicksand. Aren't you sinking, giraffe?

As things remain unchanged, we go through stage 2 - Anger. We blames everyone - whoever that crossed our path will be a victim of our shouting, blaming, swearing and cursing. The victim may not be the one to blame ... but literally they appears at the wrong time in the wrong place.

Giraffe : Well, this is just $%#@ perfect. Stupid quicksand. Stupid jungle. I'm gonna bite someone in the face. Mother $%#@. Mother $%#@. Mother $%#@. Arghh! That stupid jungle. Oh...$%#@ ......

OMG ... that is one damn angry giraffe for you. Pretty silly. (Don't you love this part...haha).

Cooling down a little, we find that being angry doesn't help one bit. Maybe GOD will sympathize and help us out as we keep our fingers crossed. That's stage 3 - bargaining for you.

Giraffe : Are you there God? Its me ... Giraffe. Listen ... if you would just give me a hooligan on this quicksand thing, I promised ... I promised ... no more peeing on your shoulder's creature. Erhh..hh..hh...We've got a deal ?

Downright pathetic ... after much cursing and blaming on about everything else, you think GOD will sympathize. Neh!

When nothing happens, the next best thing is to cry out loud. That's depression. Sometimes we may feel so much better after letting it out. We sympathize our self and that usually makes us feel better. Well. somehow unfortunately...

Giraffe : Urghhhhhhhhu rghhhhhhu rghhhhhh ... whaaaaa haaaa haaaaaa haaa haaa! Urghhhhhhhh urghhhhhh urghhhhhh ... whaaaaa haaaa waaaaaa weeeeee woo!

Okay ... that is even more pathetic ... silly silly silly ...

Finally, we accept our falling. Stage 5 - Acceptance ...

Giraffe : You know something, I'm cool with this. I bet ... I bet heaven has all the tender leaves I can eat. And everyone gets their own slurpy machines. Yeah! Take me sweet death. I await your loving embrace. "Tskh" Oh...what...I think I hit the bottom. $%#@.

Well, it's better to accept than to go rampaging about it. The mole is certainly smarter : )

The moral of the story - avoid quicksand. Avoid it like a plague. LOL ... joking.

Basically, we must never ever give up on things till we try very hard to mend it. There is no use complaining about it. Complaining will only makes everything even worse. The giraffe should have move so very slowly and bite on the grass by the quicksand bank to pull itself up. After all, giraffe has a long neck. As giraffe goes through all the stages, giraffe wasted precious time to save itself. While giraffe may not drown in the quicksand, giraffe may die of hunger later on however.
