I Am Back Blogging Again ...

I know. I neglected my blog again. Ha .. not funny, really. I've been busy the past 10 months till the point I actually don't bother blogging anymore. Just imagine working from morning till late night consistently throughout the week. Any free time will thus be devoted to sleeping, facebooking, surfing, sleeping, working at home (what!), sleeping again, eat, TV, family, sleeping ... haha ...

Fast forwarding to 2011, erm ... more specifically March 2011 ... now ... I told myself that I need to change. I don't see why I need to push to the max anymore because the progress I hoped for is not moving as fast I would like it to be anyway. The past 10 months is seriously eating me up already and I decided that it is not worth it and to give myself a little breathing space. I want to have a more active and healthy lifestyle, I want to do some travelling around, I want to meet different people, and I want to experience something more than I did in 2010. Not saying that 2010 is a bad year...just that 2010 is an eye opener :)

Anyway, how's life since leaving my blog untended. Hmm ... let's see ...

I can finally stop eating all the tuberculostatic drugs, what like after almost a year eating it every single day.

My last x-ray and body check-up was in August. The next one will be in August 2011. Doctor said that my lungs will take a couple of years to cure completely. Apparently, there are still scars (called fibrosis) on the surface. Umphh ... (another reason for me to take it easier this time around eh!)

I'm still single ... haha ... actually it is not funny because the pressure from the elders are truly overwhelming, I don't like it one bit. I say, when the time comes, the time will come. Do I really need to be attached, get married immediately, have kids and everything ... like right now and before I reach 30?

At work, as mentioned, I've been very busy indeed. I do enjoy some part of my work, yes, especially the challenges. When I want to accomplish something I always do the best I can and push to the max. It sounded silly sometimes but maybe I give in too much without realizing it occasionally. You see, people's recognition of me is extremely important to me. I need to know that I am appreciated, the stuff that I am doing is benefiting others and I can see where I am heading.

Family: Why are you working so hard for har? You getting 5K salary or more ah?
Me: Erm ... no la ...I'm still young ... just want to show what I can do, my dedication to my work & climb up the career ladder faster only mar ... nothing wrong right?
Family: Nothing wrong of course ... just that you have no life lately ... look at you now ... do you want to wait till you fall sick then you stop, is it? ... just like what happen in 2009? You still need time to recover you know!
Me: Erm ... (stoned!)

Friends: Aiyah ... why are you working so hard for? Salary low ... work like cow ... even people who didn't do as much work as you earning way more than you lar ... not worth it at all ... not worth it
Me: Erm ... they have experience and have been working longer already mar. I've just started ... and after all, wherever you go it is the same lar ... so have to work hard to climb faster mar ... correct or not?
Friends: Look at us lar ...been working long enough already ... we are still just here, just the same ... experience is nothing if you can't do the work properly, right? It is so obvious ...
Me: Erm ... okay ... but hey I have friends working in the same line climbing so fast and earning double of mine already. I can also do it what. Just need more time.
Friends: Okay! You wait and see lah ... but why the hell you go and compare yourself with your friends for?
Me:  (stoned!) ... erm ... because I believe I can do it too?

Me: Hey! I've been here for sometime already. Do you know what am I doing here and what is my daily job like?
Friend: Erm ...
Me: ...
Friend: Well ...
Me: ...
Friend: You know ... planning ...and erm ...well ... for the team and all ...
Me: (jaw drop and feeling like my heart just fell 1 notch)  ... (Is that all I do in front of you all this while? Is that all? Seriously?)

Okay! Enough with all the negativity above because I am looking forward to this year and how it will unfold this time around. I still enjoy some part of my job ... though I hate that some of it is becoming some sort of  a routine. When people have different projects every time, I am stuck doing the same thing. I have to be more positive and believe that all will not go down the drain. After all, I think I have definitely achieved some of the objectives written here already.

Am I getting richer in the past 10 months? Or having more savings just for the future. Well, far from it actually. Study loan, car loan, parents, petrol, food, other necessities, the list goes on and on. By month's end, I am left with so little I think it will take me another 50 years to have a comfortable savings to spend. Not to mentioned, someone owe me money and I'm still trying to get my money back ... hmph... that's worth more than an iphone. I don't mind really lending people money. That is what family and friends are for right, looking after each other's back and giving a hand in time of need. But, that ... yes I have learnt my lesson ...that is to lend to people worth lending only.

Talking about study loan, I applied for an exemption 6 months back because I got a 1st class honour. Unfortunately, I graduated in the wrong year, I think. The #@%$ government stopped the exemption policy in 2005 but then decided to reinstate it back beginning 2010. What about students who graduated between 2005 and 2010. Unimaginably silly. Not fair at all. Why are we left out?

Last but not least, I am still iphone4-less. I would like to have one so badly for a long time already. I tried getting one few weeks ago when Maxis visited AABC. But, their plan sucks big time. So called sister-brother company eh ... what's with the expensive plans and 'keep us tied up forever' contract? I am currently looking at ways to get an affordable unlocked version outside. Any ideas where can I get one?

That's about it for now. Till the next post ... ciao.

In what circumstances can we say "religion is important" and "religion is not important"?

Is your religion important to you? Are you comfortable with your current religion? What are you looking for in a religion? Etc ...

Well, many people faced these problems where they don't have any idea where their religion is leading them to. They are in it because they are born and raised in it. There isn't a sense of belonging inside as they just accept it and go through their daily life with so called "their religion" on their backs as though it is a daily chores. No, it can't be that way, right?

An email came to me earlier today with Dalai Lama's words attached. And, I am enlighten. What he said make so much sense. His words are like an arrow hitting straight to the bull's eye. There is no forcing in accepting a religion. It is all about the truth and the sensible wise advices. He said:

"The best religion gets you closest to God. It is the one that makes you a better person"

In another word, it means that a religion will be the best religion in the whole wide world if it makes all the difference to you. It does get you closer to God and because of it, you are what you are today!

I'm glad to say that I've been a Buddhist all my life. And yes, I do feel comfortable with my religion. I believe in it and I can see where it is leading me to. At times, I can sense that I am being protected and looked upon after. I've been through some really tough time in the past 2 years and it could have been worse.

I wouldn't dare to say that I am a good, kind, humble, etc human being because of my religion . But, I can say out loudly that I've tried my very best to be a better person and that is all that matters to me ... and to my religion. No single human is perfect after all, not even the wise Dalai Lama.

Race discrimination & prejudice .... A racist remark

I got to know about these remarks from a blogger and I decided to post it here in the hope that I can spread it wide and far.

The remarks are certainly an issue as far as I am concerned. As long as such racist remarks are raised, other races will never be able to accept the 1Malaysia concept. How are we going to compromise and accept everything when we are not even well accepted here? As a matter of a fact, most Bumiputeras are not exactly pure Bumiputeras. They have ancestors from other Asian countries as well ... particularly Indonesia.

Anyway, I'm going to translate the remarks word for word into English as best as I could below so that everyone can actually understand it. You can read the original post here. A note here that the post is dated almost 11 months ago. But, that is not the whole point here. Here we go.
To Datuk Seri Najib and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, as part of the Malaysian citizen, the Islam religion and also the Malay race, I would like to express my anger as one of the Bumiputera (indigenous people) in this Malay land.

My claim against the government of Malaysia:

1) Destroy non-bumiputera's voting rights
They definitely doesn't deserve to vote in Malaysia because they only vote based on their own race only.

2) Cancel all political parties not owned by the Bumiputera in this Malay Land
Their party is extremely racist and even if they are a part of the component, they will not help us Bumiputera. Instead, they claim for our Bumiputera rights.

3) Return back all the Malay rights which had been liberalized last month

4) Bring down the statue of Hindu God in Batu Caves and also the statue of the sitting Buddha in Kelantan.
This issue is the most important of all! How us, Malaysian, an Islam country and that Islam is the main religion here, built tall huge statues to the point that it is taller that all our mosque's dome!!!

All the claims above is not something racist. But, it is our expression underneath all of it. Other migrant races will not compromise with the current government. They will only claim all the rights of the Bumiputera.

And here we ask, before anything happens, that the Malaysian government will agree to all the 4 claims mentioned.

I would like to stress one more time, a warning to the government of Malaysia!!! ...

... that, the migrant races will not support the Bumiputera! They will only support their own race! They will only surpress Bumiputera slowly, finely and secretly. They even support all the communist fighters who killed the Islam and Malay people. What's to come next then!!!
So there you have it, a racist remark written and posted by this guy - Apache, a vice Chief of the Youth UMNO Movement.

I just don't get why this Apache guy have to raise such issue. I have Malay friends from my schooling eras as well as my current working place. They are all nice people who respect other races and religion. We will talk about the way of one another's religion and race sometimes. It is always very casual, friendly and educational.

It's hard to accept it but I feel that racial issue will always be an issue here in Malaysia. It happens when we have so many races residing together. And, each races will never forget about their roots that's for sure. I know I won't. All that we can do now is to respect one another for the differences that we have.

As to Apache guy, I don't give a damn about all his claims because it is not the voice of all Malays & Bumiputeras. If he is so worried about all his claims, he should work harder for his people. Other races work really hard to be where they are today. And, that is without much help from the government (especially the various policies laid down to even-out the economic differences between races).

Since Apache is so worried, he should just stop wearing western clothes (t-shirts/shirts/pants/coats). No more western food or any other races' food (Mcdonalds, KFC, noodles). No more TV, radio, tall buildings and etc. He should just go back to his kampung so that he can stop being so concern about things out-shinning his believes and everything. See, he just don't get it.

To me, if a person discriminate, he/she will be discriminated as well. That is the main reason why racial issues here are so hard to be solved. Other races are discriminated in the first place. So they discriminate as well. You can't expect people to stay low and accept everything with a swallow.

I know what I wrote above might not go down well with other people's understanding and believes. But, that is just my opinion. I mean no harm. To other Malay who are unlike Apache, thank you! You are different and that makes all the difference. Awesome!

At long last ... and a 'Have you seen him' thingy.

It has been quite a while since I posted something here on my blog. Where have all the time gone too anyway? Ever since I was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis, everything seems to be crumbling (well, not exactly) all over. Quarantine oneself is nothing, but, having to feel useless and aimless is another.

But, thankfully and gratefully, my family & relatives supported me through and through. While I care for them dearly, I have to admit that I need to be reminded from time to times that I still do, and very much too. Ah! We humans, we realize and learn from it only after we fall.

Talking about family and relatives reminded me of a request made by a friend of mine. My friend is looking for a long lost step brother (by the name of Lee Chee Fai) of hers. It has been 11 years since they have cross path. That is a very long period indeed. Well, this is for you then my friend.

Lee Chee Fai was born on the 1st of December 1973 at Pusing, Perak. His mum (which is my friend’s mum also) had to give him out for adoption due to some unforeseen circumstances (family problems I presume).

A child is everything to a mother. Now, you tell me which mother doesn’t love and care for her child? A mother will willingly sacrifice everything just to make sure her child is safe and doing well in the society. Remember 'The Filial Piety Sutra' (click here if you don't) ?
“The parental kindness is deeper than the sea”

“The virtuous kindness of our parents never differs. As long as you are their child, they will never despise you no matter how ugly you may be

“And they will never get angry or be disgusted with you even if you are crippled”
Well, continuing, my friend’s mum decided to look out for her son. And, manage to find him she did. It was from 1987 to 1990 when she was reconciled with her son ... briefly.

I guess he did understand his mother’s predicament. And so, he continues to stay in touch with his mum. That is even though he was staying at different locations. He even visited her occasionally. See, he did care for her.

Fast forwarding to 1998, 11 years ago (the last time my friend ever saw him), he was still working at Singapore then. His job had got something to do with hotel management. But, 1998 was the year when everything went awry. He seems to be nowhere. My friend’s mum couldn’t contact him no matter how much she tried to. She even contacted the other family (the family that adopted him). However, things didn’t look very promising though. The family seems to be hiding something.

Now that we are fast reaching the end of year 2009, there is not single news (at least a wind is still something). She is at wit’s end in searching for her son.

So, to Lee Chee Fai (if you ever read this), your mum misses you so very deeply. Do contact her and tell her that you are doing okay.

To whomever who know/recognize Lee Chee Fai, give me a buzz with your details (email of mobile number maybe) and I’ll direct you to my friend.

Till next post, bye.

Is Earth Hour a mere publicity stunt ?

Today I read an article from The Star with much interest. It is an opinion base article sent in by Marcus from PJ.
"Earth Hour is a mere publicity stunt"

I READ with amazement and irony the efforts of WWF Malaysia to latch on to the Earth Hour event and all the celebrities, media and corporations that have come up in support.

It is amazing that people are so easily taken in by a mere publicity stunt that fails at the very essence. Turning off our lights for one hour on one designated day of the year to save our planet surely is a PR event at best.

It shames the thousands of devoted people, government bodies, scientists and environmentalists that have for years been working on finding real solutions to address this global concern. Malaysians should see past this gimmick by international NGOs and start changing their lifestyles. Surely we can be more proactive and not be fed by an agenda of international bodies.

Why don’t we implement power conservation programmes, ride public transport on certain days in a month, car pool, etc?

It is also ironic that the organiser, WWF Malaysia, up until very recently, did not even have a climate change programme to begin with when all others (even local groups and individuals) have been persistent in their pleas for Malaysians to take action.

Remember, our leaders signed the Kyoto Protocol and there has been concerted movement towards reaching solutions. Please let us all be enlightened and move away from celebrations and gimmicks.

MARCUS,
Petaling Jaya.
So anyway, this is to you Marcus of PJ. You are so damn wrong. This is not a gimmic or celebration!!!

Earth Hour is a global event whose objective is to raise awareness about this global concern. To save our planet and deal with global warming, first and foremost, we need to make sure that everyone is aware of what is happening, why we have to work together, why this matter is so important and etc.

What is the use of the thousands of devoted people, government bodies, scientists and environmentalists (who have been working for years to find real solutions to address this global concern) when no one cares nor aware to start appretiating all the hardwork?

What is the use of implementing power conservation programmes, ride public transport or even car pool when no one is aware or care about it. What is the use then? Do you think people will implement all these by means of the name 'implementation'?

The answer is NO. They need to know why they need to do it. They need to know why they should be doing it. The need to understand the consequences of not doing it. They just need to know about it and the rest will come automatically (well, if they really cares ... but that's not the point).

They just can't implement it without knowing the reason why. And so, Earth Hour is created to educate and raise awareness. Why the hell do you think Earth Hour cropped out all of a sudden few years back?

..........

So, come Saturday 8.30 p.m., if you want to turn off the lights in support of the event, please do so. Support the event and the planet. Enjoy the moment.

If you don't, it is certainly fine with everyone. Just remember the purpose of this event and that is all that matters. But do try to put a mental note to yourself to conserve energy, car pool, ride the public bus or whatever that takes to help our beloved earth out.

My motto (and it should be yours too):
A little makes all the difference. Nothing makes no difference.

A song that keeps playing in my head ... argh!!!

Have you ever experience a kind of situation (well kind of) where a song keeps playing in your head? You can call it 'keep spinning in you head', 'stuck in you head' or whatever.

As a matter of fact, a song is playing continuously in my head right now. It has been days since I first heard that song.

The song bore in my head. The song won't let me go. I seriously need a cure right now! I really do ...

I was watching Grey's Anatomy Season 5 Episode 8 (These Ties That Bind) the other day. When this song was played, I was hooked. The arrangement of the song was so intriguing ... so addictive.

I search for the song immediately. And, what a catch! (weee!). By the way, the song above is called 'Trouble is a Friend' by Lenka ... from her self-titled debut album released few months back. As the chorus goes:
He's there in the dark
he's there in my heart
he waits in the winds
he's gotta play a part
Trouble is a friend
Yeah trouble is a friend of mine. Oh! Oh!

So don't be alarmed if he takes you by the arm
I won't let him win, but I'm a sucker for his charm
Trouble is a friend
Yeah trouble is a friend of mine. Oh! oh!
So, to Lenka, trouble is a 'He'. To me, trouble can be a he or a she. But yeah, trouble is everywhere. Before we know what's going on, oops!, we are in trouble. You bad bad friend, trouble.

But anyway, Lenka is refreshingly upbeat. After listening to her album, I find that she is able to find a silver lining in just about every cloud. Oh, and she is very pretty too :)

Grey's Anatomy always have great music in their pocket I must say. Remember Inagra George's Fools In Love, Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars, KT Tunstall's Universe and U, The Bird and the Bee's Again and Again, Brandi Carlile's The Story, Sarah Melson's Feel It Coming and many more? Yeah, I hope you do. If you don't, what are you waiting for. Go hunt for it now!

Over the years, there are so many songs that get stuck in my head. And, it is not a good thing I can tell you this. The song will keep spinning every second every minute every hour. When you are driving, when you are sleeping, when you are studying, blablabla.

Not that I hated the song. No I don't. I love the song. But at times, I do need a moment of peace. We all need a moment of peace. A moment when nothing is in our head. A white space. A breathing space. A space without any intruders.

Gosh! I'm still hearing it in my head. Got to get my dose of 'Trouble is a Friend' now.

Before I go, tell me, what's your songs that get stuck in you head frequently?

Reminder:
Don't blame me if the song is stuck in you head. It's not my fault :)

Petition to DYMM the Sultan of Perak ...

To all Malaysian who are aware of the current state of Perak, ...

... what with the oh so very 'interesting' frog saga, the siege of power in just like days and the rapid changes in Perak, you may want to sign this petition to DYMM the Sultan of Perak.

I am not sure who is on the right side and who is not. But, from my little observation, BN is one pretty huge arrogant big headed party (looking at their actions and you will know why ... looking at their past records and there is no doubt).

Media has also been doing a lot of 'manipulation' (look at TV3's Buletin news and The Star's allocation of news ... eugh!) consciously or unconsciously ... to make PKR look kind of in the bad light. There is a lot of stories and news unreported ... clearly no doubt.

Without witting no more, here is the link to the petition ...

Petition - My Plea ... to defend the voice of the people

When you do decide to sigh the petition, please use you real names and ... no flames please. This is a platform for you to state what you want and appeal to his heart ... not to let off steam or to bash His Royal Highness. Respect is the first thing towards success.

Thank you
(p.s: I have signed the petition. If you are not in-line with what I felt, not in the same wavelength or for whatever reason, do take note that I have no bad intentions whatsoever)

I will be away for a week !!! Enjoy the Hot Chocolate while I am away ...

My dearest blog readers, visitors and friends alike,

I will be away for a week starting this very Friday (9th Jan 2009). I will be back next Friday (16th Jan 2009).

I know what's on your mind though. "Where are you going eh?" you may asked :)

Well, let's just say I am going to travel ...

Frankly speaking, I never travel before ... I mean outside of Malaysia ... So, this coming adventure will be something new to me. I am pretty excited about it as a matter of fact.

No posting will be made for a whole week then ... but ... take heed ... without a doubt ~

I WILL BE BACK !!!

Before that however, I am leaving you with a story I stumbled upon ... a thought provoking story ... Short it may be but it teaches us a whole lot. (Hope it last you for a week !!!)

HOT CHOCOLATE

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to visit their old professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives.

Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups - porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.

When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said: "Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each others cups."

Now consider this:

Life = hot chocolate; while your job, money and position in society = the cups.

They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything that they have.

Therefore, Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. And, enjoy your hot chocolate.

(taken from Food for Thought ... with a little alteration by me to generalised it)

Until next week,

'poof!' ... oops ... (still here)

'POOF!' ...

...of wind and dreams

And to the wind go so many dreams,
That you held inside,
Now you're just a memory,
Burning in my mind

You might be thinking that the introduction above is a little sombre for an entry. But, that is just me ... me being me undoubtedly.

It has been a couple of days into 2009. Everyone is busy about noting down their very own resolution and wishes for 2009. That is certainly a very normal thing for us to be doing of course.

I'm a little strayed then if you asked me now. Yes I am. I've been reflecting very much upon myself and what I have done over the years.

I am done with kindergarten. I am done with primary, secondary and even high school. Recently, I am done with my degree.

I've been working pretty hard on all the necessary steps to have what I have today.

But frankly speaking, what I have right now is not what I have dreamt of ... all those years. Not that I regretted it ... certainly not. A misunderstanding on your part is certainly not what I have planned.

One of my favourite quote from one of my favourite movie - Forrest Gump ... mentioned:
"Life is like a box of chocolate.
You never know what you're gonna get"
Life is indeed like a box of chocolate. It may not be what I have dreamt of . But, I am what I am today is because of what I have gone through in the past.

FYI, the short intro earlier is a cut out from a lyric of the song you are actually hearing right now on my very blog (if you do have you speaker on!). Personalizing it, it will be something like this:

And to the wind go so many dreams,
That I held inside,
Now it's just a memory,
Burning in my mind

There are so many dreams I held deep down inside me. It is to dream the impossible dream. It is to bear with the unbearable sorrow. It is to reach the unreachable stars.

I know some dreams are best begone. But, there are certainly some dreams I can hold on to tightly. Dreams that are about to be unfold ... hopefully ... this very 2009.

The fact is - 2009 is a total stranger to me. 2009 will be full of surprises and the unexpected. 2009 will be the year I spread my wing a little further.

So, for my 2009 resolution, I wish that:
  • My parents and my relatives will always be at tiptop condition ... mind me ... what I meant is healthy, happy and prosperous.
  • Same goes to my friends ... wherever you are ... that our friendship remains.

That is all for my resolution. With them being my pillars of strength and encouragement, my dreams will become reality on its own accord.

To my unreachable dreams ....

You'll only fade
Into the wind

My 2008 Chronology ... a reveal it all post ...

2008 was … well … very eventful … there were so many unexpected things happen that I was like stunned … like … what! … hurh! … did that just happen!

This year may as well be my most significant year indeed – mostly bad memories .... can't deny it myself.

I’d pretty much grown out of it. I am a different person now … more so than before.

This post will be pretty lengthy ... here goes then my very own 2008 chronology.

January 2008
I started off my internship attachment programme at Starcom Mediavest Group.

The company was located at Menara Olympia, KL. Learn a lot thanks to my kind director Ms Shamistha, my lovely manager Ms Ker Harn and my cute supervisor/friend Ms Li Ling.

Menara Olympia (the tall one)

This was the month where my wallet was stolen by a pickpocket. I was on my way home and I didn’t even realize it till I got down from the bus.

Pickpocket

I guess it was stolen while I was struggling to get onboard the bus. Mostly foreign workers from Vietnam, Bangladesh and Indonesia, they had no sense at all to queue up. Who suffered then if not the locals???

Identification card, ATM card, driving license, other cards and also some cash all gone. Had to forked out money to replace all the cards. Damn ...

This was also the month I got my very first birthday present from my mum. I was so excited as I got to finally change my lousy mobile phone to this new one.

Sony Ericsson K550i

It may not be the best phone. But, it was given by my mum and it was also a way better phone than my old one. Couldn’t ask for more … I hardly get any present after all these years anyway.

March 2008
March was a terrible month overall. TERRIBLE.

Was walking to work on that very day, the 14th of March. Guess I was a little too early than usual - 7 in them morning. While passing through a dark narrow lane between 2 old buildings, I was pushed so sudden by 3 guys into that lane I fell. Without realizing what was happening, I was beaten – hit, boxed, kicked, whatever …

Mugger

It was terrifying. What can a person expect then when it was 3 guys against 1 guy? I screamed to no vail. Pretty much no one cared though I swear someone saw the incident. I thought I was as good as done. Struggled for awhile. After much struggle, I managed to pull myself up, grabbed the back door grills and pull myself away from them. They got my bag pack. Mobile phone and wallet was still with me.

Rran out of that lane and cool myself down as they were running away as well. Saw a stall aunt was about to start her business. Asked her about it but then realized what she said was true. What can an old lady do? Those 3 muggers may even come back for revenge if she did.

Walked back into that lane and found my glasses and surprisingly my amulet. I had a strong feeling that the amulet I wore protected me. The muggers tried to grab my neck chain. The chain broke as they pulled mercilessly and that was when my amulet fell from the chain. I may be strangled to death if the chain did not !!!

Called my mum and then walked to my office to clean myself up. I was bleeding from my neck, face and hand. Was about to walk to the nearest police station alone when my manager found me. She calmed me down just when I needed it the most. Walk to the police station alone after that. The person in-charged – a policewoman was so damn rude I was steaming inside. Hello, I was mugged, still bleeding and so, what’s with the rudeness eh?

Walked to the nearest clinic. Thank God the doctor was rather understanding as he allowed me to pay the next day (not enough cash on my body). Walked to Klang bus station and took a bus home. I was physically and emotionally stabled after a few days thanks to my family and relatives.

Since the incident, I was a little more sensitive to … erm … strangers. On the 26th of March, I was on my way back from work. Was once again struggling to get up the bus. Saw a guy with his hand placed suspiciously around a lady’s back. Instinct kicked in and I pushed that guy. Instantly I was pushed back. Then, abruptly, I was boxed ....

Though it was just a light box, anger filled me up. Was able to control myself in time and not box him back. That guy acted as though he was innocent and showed everybody his ticket. He was not even in the bus later on !!!

On the 29th of March, I was on my way to KL with my sister. As we chat, suddenly a guy from behind said … "look there". He explained to me that he dropped his ticket. Then, he moved to the front to pick it up. There was no ticket to be seen though he kept rummaging my jeans … bottom part… He said he found it after awhile. Of course I was suspicious. But, what am I to know what was about to happen then?

The guy got down from the bus as I realized something was amiss. Where was my mobile phone? Gave him a chase and searched his body all over. Nothing was found. Asked my sister to call my mobile but it was too late. The mobile phone my mum gave me 2 months ago was gone … right in front eyes.

Literally, March = dark period!!!

April 2008
Internship attachment ended. Enjoyed working there a lot.

May 2008
Went to Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled Children's Home. Had lots of fun. The children there were amazing.

Me with the kids and my friends

Back to University … which means back to student life >>>

July/August 2008
Was struggling with the amount of work on my shoulders – thesis, assignments and course representative’s responsibilities. I was worn out totally. After several days of sleepless night and much hard work, I got myself into an accident.

Was driving back from University after finalizing one of the assignments. I didn’t even realize I was about to fall asleep. So, I banged a side divider. I was few inches away from murdering a few people at the front. Thank God nobody was hurt. The car was badly damaged though. I had a feeling I was protected again as there was an amulet hanged in the car … almost similar to the one I wore … Thank God …

Few days later, drove the car to a mechanic workshop located at Kepong. Car died half way though … right in the middle of a T-junction. Damn … the road was rather busy!!!

September 2008
Forked out RM 335.78 to sponsor a child and co-sponsor the other. The 2 child will be covered for the whole year with school books, hot lunch and a mosquito net. Was glad and happy deep down knowing that the money means better life for them there.

My sponsored child | My co-sponsored child

New and final semester started.

October/November 2008
My blog was created on the 24th of October.

Was juggling to handle my thesis, my responsibilities as the course representatives and my group assignment ... struggling once again.

The only assignment, the final group assignment (9 in a group) made me wonder what my friends and group members really were actually. To what extend do I know them after all eh?

It was so bad till the point I was doing it all by myself. I fed them with most of the information initially. I guided them. I handled almost everything as no one wanted to take the lead. Deadline was around the corner and I thought I had to do it all by myself. The group leader heard my frustration and helped me up on what’s left of it …

I understand that they were struggling to finish up their thesis. Well hello, I had one all to myself for your information. Rather selfish and inconsiderate eh ...

I look at them differently once again since then … even some who were rather close to me. When frustration kicks in … frustration kicks in!!! I finalized the final assignment in anger. We will always be friends of course. But, who can forget it after being treated as such.

My dear friends ... tell me ... did I ever treated you that way?

Attended the Lovely Disabled Home outdoor activity. Brought the disabled for a stroll in the park - from home to Brickfields to KLCC to home again ... by LRT. Had lots of fun. A meaningful activitiy indeed.

In Taman Bahagia LRT station. I was way behind in the picture ... lol

December 2008
Got the marks for my group assignment. Got the lowest among all the groups. Guess I couldn’t ask for more since I did it in anger, frustration and with little help.

Attended ‘Kakiis Nite Out’ event. A fun-filled night indeed. Enjoyed it very much.

Done my final exam … yay!

Received a Christmas card from Canada. It’s from a Facebook friend of mine who help me out when I was wondering what I should do to sponsor a child.

Christmas card all the way from Canada

Done my passport.

My passport
Handed in my thesis … yay again!

My thesis

Its certainly the END of 2008 and the BEGINNING of year 2009. Hopefully 2009 will be a better year for me ...

Thanks for reading and Ho ... Ho ... Ho ... Merry Christmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

A simple love story ... and others ...

A son asked his father,
'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'
Do take note that despite having a heart condition, the father says 'Yes'.

They went on to complete the marathon together.

Father and son went on to join many other marathons as well since then.

The father always agree with his son's request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father,
'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.'

As always, his father said 'Yes' too.

For those who do not know, Ironman is one of the toughest triathlon ever.

The race encompasses three endurance events of a

2.4 mile (3.86 km) ocean swim,
112 mile (180.2 km) bike ride, and
26.2 mile (42.195 km) run

... marathon along the coast of the Big Island.

Father and son went on to complete the race together.

Now, watch the video of the race and the reality of life. It is a very touching video … trust me ^.^

The father loves him so much till the point where he sacrificed everything just for him.

Only a parent can do that !!!

They are willing to go through the thick and thin just for us … and yes, even their lives.

Let’s travel a little nearer back home to the current tragedy of ‘Bukit Antarabangsa landslide’ here in Malaysia.

A veterinarian, Dr S. Yogeswari, died while trying to save her children. She was searching for them in her wrecked house and was trapped.

She managed to find them. But then, as land slide was still occurring, she used her body to shield them.

A beam fell on her back, fracturing her ribs and causing massive internal bleeding.

Practically two different story, but generally, it is the same thing – LOVE.

According to The Filial Piety Sutra,
“The parental kindness is deeper than the sea”

“The virtuous kindness of our parents never differs. As long as you are their child, they will never despise you no matter how ugly you may be

“And they will never get angry or be disgusted with you even if you are crippled”
The Sutra is a rather interesting read. You can download a special English translated comic version here (right click to save as/save link as).

You don't have to be a Buddhist to enjoy it. Thrust me, you will love the comic version …

Last but not least, LOVE your parents dearly .... treasure them while there are still with you!!!

They may be a little grumpy at times, or a control freak, or whatever impression you may have, but, once you read the Sutra, you will understand their kindness in bringing you up.

I LOVE my parent and relatives dearly and I am sure you do too ^.^

Note:
While there are bloggers who are compassionate enough as they blog about the land slide tragedy with a heavy heart (you rock!), there are a blogger who are otherwise.

He failed to look a little deeper and a little further into that matter. Seriously, the victims are not flaunting their wealth for whatever reason so as to invest their money at land slide prone area !!! Kononnya that blogger hebat eh! His post deserve a DANG from me...

Look at Dr Yogeswari, she is an animal lover who charged only a nominal fee to vaccinate, neuter and treat rescued cats and dogs. She also did not take any money when boarding rescued dogs and cats at her clinic.
Is she anything other than flaunting her wealth?

There is another blogger who assume that the east coast people are stupid enough to build houses there when that area is flood prone. And so to him, they deserve such predicament.

Assume ... assume ... assume ... did he research before coming out with such opinions. The people there are mostly fisherman, farmer and etc who work hard to make a living. His opinions are pretty much unfounded ... and without any particular strong facts and proofs. That post deserve a DANG from me too.

We blog to inspire, to share and spread positive opinions and knowledge ... not sending out negative ill fated comments and opinions.
No offense intended ...

The silliest lousiest blog i ever come across...

*Update: the blog is suspended for good already. This may be due to the amazing complaints and boycotting all of us bloggers did. Well, serve him right !!!

Anyway, did anyone of you notice that his last post was like 4 months ago. Maybe he is caught already...and so, he is unable to blog ... or stalk that much.

Whatever, do enjoy whats left of his blog through other blogs ... our complaints reigned here !!!

Yup! Its true. There is certainly such blog lying somewhere.

I've read several blogs complaining about this particular author and blog, and decided to do the same.

Here is the link to that SILLY blog.

What the author of that blog did was to snap pictures of females working or hanging around at a shopping mall called KBmall (my guess - Kota Bahru Mall).

His target - females wearing short skirt, tight blouse, white blouse, tight tudung (like...duh !!) and even weird ugly clothes (according to him).

Then, the photos are posted on his blog together with some oh so ' nice ' comments
!

Among some of his oh so 'insightful' comments:
"Aku cukup bengang dengan kedai kecantikan ni… nak tahu apesal?… sebab ni lah 2 pekerjanya antara yang 3 tu. Seksi pakai skirt atas paha.Pusat kecantikan tu buat khidmat seks juga ke?"

"Nak aku tolak je 2 amoi je biar tergolek golek kasi ternampak seluar dalam tu. Pakai seluar dalam ke ntah."

"Tu dia… amoi gerai jual beg tu lagi. Gitu lah lagaknya amoi ni seksi."

"Bangsat betul kedai saloon ni. Kedai ni pekerjanya buka aurat. Tu yang tercegat tunggu pelanggan tu melayu. Konfem. MPKB tolong la weh buat sesuatu..."

His photos are also very ... well, how should I put it ... amateurish and yucky! Okay, lets just give his Bahasa Malaysia a skip ... or else ... this post will be far too long.

I am glad that many bloggers took the time to complain and post some piece of their mind there. But, I also found that he do have his own supporters ... some are rather bias and racist I must say.

He must have sat a time machine and accidentally landed here on Kelantan soil ... from ...say...thousand years ago.

Wow, a fast learner huh ... owning a blog already ! But, caveman mentality remains ...

The fact is, he acted like a stalker. Snapping pictures without consent is a crime. What more, commenting about their dressings like there is no tomorrow.

As humble as he could have been, he should have minded his own business. As the saying goes, look in the mirror before talking...
